McCalls M6127 – Entry 1 Pattern Analysis

I’m going to be making the top with cap sleeves, view B.

This top is made from knit fabric, has a cross-over top with pleated fullness in the bust, the front and back attach to lower pieces and the view I’ve chosen has a cap style sleeve.

I anticipate that this will be a quick top to put together…if everything fits correctly.

I’ll be looking through my fabrics for an appropriate knit.

  1. Looking forward to hearing how sewing with knits goes. I am just not that good at it yet. BUT, I keep trying. Maybe you will be able to give us all a few hints.

  2. I love the look of this pattern so I hope it does work for you… me? I couldn’t lower the bodice enough (ha ha, but I laugh without humor!) The need for a “wardrobe” for hot summer days still haunts me and I have been working on a new knit lounge dress using the Coni Crawford pattern. Not much fitting involved, but only get one thing accomplished a day. Stabilized the shoulder seam with stay tape. Ironed on some lt. wt. interfacing to the yoke. Had to do some serious steaming afterward to get the neckline back to its original shape, but I think its OK now. Next time I will staystitch the neckline before adding interfacing! I wonder if I should sew stay tape to the neckline seam???
    I like that jacket’s cascading front… so Today’s Fashion.
