Hi Friends!
The next block on this journey is “Meetings”!
I made “Meetings” in the last couple of days after a long search to find a traditional pattern that would represent chairs or a group of people together but I did not have much luck…so “Meetings” was born out of necessity!
The block represents the chairs around a central motif counting the number of weeks in the program (for me it is 4 weeks!).
Block Name: Meetings, Original Design
Finished Size: 6″
Difficulty Rating: Medium
Number of Pieces: 44
Method of Construction: Free Form Piecing
Weight Loss Progress: -7
I first designed an idea on paper and then instead of trying to figure out the size of the pieces I used these ‘Bonus Triangle’ blocks left over from the lap size ‘Star Snowball’ topper I recently finished…
Using those blue and white half square triangles as the base I marked off a line on the back that was 1/2″ from the sewing line on the white part and sewed a piece of scrap fabric from the crumb bin. The center is a leftover 4 Patch and then I added the triangles to each edge for a Square In a Square.
Happy Sewing Everyone!

Nice block and very appropriate!

I have just discovered your blog because I was looking for ways to get a braided rug completed and found your Braid-A-Long. While looking through the four days of the Braid-A-Long, I saw your quilt block on the side. I looked at why you started it and looked at the blocks. I absolutely LOVE this Meetings block – what an awesome block you created! Also, what a marvelous way to document your journey on your weight loss!

Thank you Carolyn! Appreciate the comment. That reminded me that I need to post up the pattern for “Meetings!” as I’ve re-done everything now in EQ7.
Hope you are able to make a t-shirt rug! If you do…please share!
