quilting, Roll Roll Cotton Boll

Tackling a UFO (Unfinished Object!)

This is the Roll Roll Cotton Boll mystery quilt I started along with so many others during the Holidays of 2010 and the beginning of 2011.DSCF8968

This was as far as I got before I realized I’d made a mistake in my placement of the red and white half square triangles.  My Roll Roll was becoming more Buzz Saw…

Oh well.  To see what this quilt looks like all finished just google Roll Roll Cotton Boll and you’ll see what I mean!  Lot’s of quilters have finished this project and posted their finishes.  I call those INSPIRATION!

This is one of those quilts you have to do in little increments.  It is a very challenging quilt to put together.  At least for me.  Lots of pieces.  Lots of bias.  Each one of those Prickly Pear blocks takes me over an hour.

The good news is the pieces are all grouped together and I can take an envelope out of the basket and tackle them one at a time…DSCF8970

I also was smart and printed the entire mystery when I started it so I’ve got the directions, with lots of pictures.

I really like the idea of making this my ‘Trailer’ project since it fits so nicely in that basket…something that would tuck in under the dinette seat.

We have our first camping trip scheduled.  We will be heading to Ohio for a couple of nights…

Stay tuned!
