I took a break from this website for a very long time. I moved a lot of my ‘posting’ to Facebook and even started an Instagram page. One thing lead to another and I found myself leaving this wonderful blog behind, tucked away into a memory cache. I’ve thought about it often and wondered what I should do with it.
Then I started reading some of my old posts and having a good trip down memory lane. Last year Jim and I bought diary’s to enter one short entry every single day. Jim’s been good about keeping up with his but my entries have been sparse. I miss all the interesting postings and musings about life. I still have them and I do write stuff down but I’m possibly ready to get back to this website and continue this sewing for life journey.
I’m going to be retiring from a job I’ve had since December 1999 come this June and I’m really looking forward to all the projects I’ve left on the back burner. Those “I’ll get to it someday…” ones. Quite literally an entire spare bedroom full of projects.
I’ve kept this website up thinking it would be easier to go back to, and maybe move some of my older Facebook posts to here, than it would be to start over. I really like how there are so many new sewists out there but I do see that there’s a lot of people that still need learning and the internet is a great resource. Times are changing. Social media is changing. The advent and complete domination of AI across social media, searches, and even the sewing and quilting world has me a bit scratching the head.
I had a direct message this year from someone that was watching one of my quilting videos on YouTube and she asked if I’d do some more videos. I don’t really like to have me on screen but I’m happy to video what I do so it’s entirely possible I’ll get more videos made. There really is a whole list of things to do. We’ll see you soon once again!
