I’m a girly kind of girl. I really love pretty things and flowers are right up there. The inspiration for the colors of this room are coming from the tulips I took pictures of while in Austria a couple of years ago.
I don’t think I talk about painting on this blog, but on occasion I have been known to put brush to canvas. Anyhoo, this is a painting I started. I’m not that great, still a learner, but I’m starting to like how it is coming along.
If it was solely my house I’d go with a pink or a lavender or even a chartreuse green but you know how it is being married…we have to come to an agreement. WE’ve chosen the grass color. The blue I picked out just didn’t look right but the green is scrumptious and will coordinate with the yellow in the hall and much of the other colors we have going on throughout the house. Funny…they all seem to be in some shade of green, blue or yellow. A lot of compromising going on and in our house!
I’m picking up paint this afternoon. I am sooooo ready to get this painting started this weekend. Can you tell?
I have to laugh. I am sitting here in my bedroom looking at a large picture with a bowl of light to deep pink flowers around which I chose to decorate the room. It even has the blue background! I, too, had to compromise and go with a green for the room–two tones exactly cuz the hubster was on his molding kick, hence chair railing.
You’re almost there!!! I can’t wait to see this.

This picture of the tulips would make me happy every time I entered the room… even if I never got any sewing done! I envy your “do it yourselfer, get up and go” and am enjoying the many pictures you are posting. MOM
