Off the beaten trail

Catching a Breather and just Daydreaming

Hey all!

I had one of my recurring dreams the other night.  I dreamed (again) that I abandoned everything and packed up a motor home and hit the road.

Psychologically this dream has probably something to do with stress or a fear of dying young and unfulfilled, err or something like that.  Who knows right?  Well the price tag on one of these babies is a little out of my range at this point in my life so I know it’s not actually going to happen.  At least not in a luxurious way.

This is more what the wallet can afford:

Champagne taste on a beer budget.  That’s me in a nutshell.  Although as my Dad would say “I can buy  A LOT of hotel room stays for $100,000.00!”.

So, is it just me, or do any of you have these nomadic dreams of trading it all in for a life…or at least a long, long road trip on the road with hardly a care in the world?

Freud!  I need some guidance here!

It’s been a busy week so I’ll have to fill you all in on what’s shaking in some other posts.  I decided to take a day off work and attend a few classes at the Sewing and Quilt Expo this weekend so that should be exciting.  I know that expo is a hit or miss but since it’s about 5 miles from home I can’t beat it!

More later!

  1. Well…. maybe not so out of reach!!! Have you thought of renting one for a trip up the Alcan Highway? Dad and I have thought about it but did not like the idea of a breakdown and not having the slightest idea how to fix it! We know of some who have actually done it and instead of driving home, flew instead. They loved it. Remember, great adventures only come to those who pursue them. Ahh, but the same can be said for the best daydreams.

    1. I know. The breakdown scares me. But I guess if you are broken down at least you have a place to sleep! Ha ha ha!

      I’ll keep dreaming!
