Peanut Blossom Kiss Cookie Fail

Friends,

I think even the best of us bakers have moments of failure.

Today I wanted to make some Christmas cookies.  Jim chose the classic peanut butter cookie with a Hershey’s Kiss in the center.  Easy enough right?

I don’t know why I can look at a recipe and think I’m following the directions exactly and completely mess it up.  For some reason today I read 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup peanut butter but added 1 cup of butter and 1/2 cup of peanut butter!  It didn’t even occur to me until I opened the oven door what I had done!  Uggh!!

Talk about a sweet disappointment.

I also spent some of the day working on Butterick B5495.DSCF7869

This had terrific reviews on patternreview.com, in fact it was pattern of the year in 2010!

I’ll let you know how it comes out…most likely tomorrow…stay tuned!

  2. I love butter, and the cookies look good anyway. LOL!

I’m anxious to see what your top looks like when you’ve sewn it. I don’t like long sleeves myself, but I see this lovely tunic has several styles. If you find this pattern relatively easy (I know, what’s relative?), I may try it myself.

And I notice that you don’t have snow on your blog. Hey…I did answer your question when you visited on my blog! :O)

    1. It WAS easy to sew…but I will have to post more later as I’m running out the door to volunteer wrapping gifts. Hopefully tomorrow. I have some alterations yet. I have some alterations yet 😦
