An Interesting Read – Gertie’s New Book

Hi Everyone,

So getting back to some sewing, you all know I have A LOT going on right now and I’m sure you are just patiently waiting for me to post something Sew-Worthy!  I digress.

I got an email from the Library that said Gertie’s book was in and I could come and pick it up!  How cool!  I’m usually never one of the first to get a New book so I ran over there as quick as I could.  I have not seen Gertie’s book yet and I’m really interested in seeing it and reading it!

DSCF3211 If you don’t know who Gertie is she is Gretchen Hirsch and writes Gertie’s New Blog For Better Sewing over on blogpress.  I would say that the garments she makes and shares her knowledge on are mostly vintage inspired from I would say a 1940’s—early 1960’s era.  I find her blog inspiring, on a personal level, not because of what she is making, but because of watching her grow as a sewer, designer, blogger, teacher, personality and now as an author!

She is an inspiration to me because she is proof that you can find something you love to do, learn how to do it, and share your passion with others and be successful!  I can’t wait to dive into this book and get a little Gertie inspiration!
