The Des Plaines River Crests at a Record High…

I’m not sure if you can really tell, after all this is from my car, but I wanted to take a photo of the record height of the Des Plaines River for posterity.  The water is about as high as the bridge…DSCF4526

This route is only 1 of 2 that I can use to get over the river now.  Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and top out at around 60 degrees.  That will be very nice, considering this morning we woke up to SNOW!!!! DSCF4529

Seriously.  April 20th.  Snow.  It just makes me go crazy sometimes.  It is not unheard of to have crazy weather in April around here, we actually expect it.  No it’s not Global Warming or some other climate catastrophe, it’s just the way it is for this part of the globe.  We get either something coming in from the Gulf or something coming in from Alaska/Canada.  Sometimes when the two meet we get strange things…like a flood and snow for example!

Tomorrow will be better and hopefully I’ll be able to put my winter clothes away, packed up, and ready to be sent off to the Salvation Army.  You know, ‘cuz they won’t fit me come November!!!!
