Working on the Sashing

DSCF8867

There’s still lots of snow on the ground here, even though the temperatures got above freezing for a few days.  I don’t know if it was the change in weather, walking the dog without a hat, a co-worker getting sick or my husband getting sick but I ended up flat out in bed for a day last week and I’m finally feeling better!

I sat down and sewed some of the sashing strips together.  I used several black on white fabrics I’ve been collecting and am just putting them in all over.  It took me about a week to cut and tweak the layout, so far I’m running with it.  The quilt is going to be large, quite large, maybe super Queen or King size as it is coming together.

The pet’s are happy with the sun shine.  I took the camera with me outside when I let them out.  They don’t want to be out too long.  It’s sunny but it is only about 20 degrees!  Still too cold to  be out too long.

…and Holly, if only the snow would melt off the patio!

Yesterday I spent a marathon session catching up with Breaking Bad.  I ended up buying Season 1, borrowed Season 2 from the library and just now finished the last episode of Season 3!  I can’t believe I never watched this show when it was on tv.  Probably just as well because now that I’m watching it from the beginning I’m getting all the backstory!

Now I just need to get on the waiting list at the library for season 4 and 5!  Hopefully the wait won’t be too long!

Still going on this quilt!  Have any of you tried the Churn Dash pattern sheet?  If so, let me know how it worked out for you…
