Cruising, Off the beaten trail

Cruising the Caribbean Day 7 – Final Day at Sea and Coming Home

Leaving Mexico we headed back to the ship.  We boarded the ferry to take us to Cozumel where our Cruise Ship was docked…DSCF7936

…next to the Serenade of the Seas.   Look how much bigger the Oasis is…

We headed out to sea first, then the Serenade, followed by the other ships that were in port.

Back in our state room a monkey awaited us!

Our last day on board was filled with last minute fun activities.  Mary, Rob and Lizzie stopped at our door and whisked us off to the Men vs Women competition…

Quick!  See how many people you can get inside the circle!  Next, hold hands and take this hula hoop and weave it in and out until you get to the end and back, first group done gets the point! Go!

Now, take this key ring and drop it into the cup, only holding it between your knees!

That was a lot of fun.  Then on Friday we gathered for a little cupcake decorating lesson!

…of sorts.  We really just hacked apart 3 cupcakes and turned them into burgers!  Ha!

Then one more trip around the track and to say hello to the artist in residence on the ship.  He has his own little workshop towards the back of the ship.  He said he has to constantly paint because of the sea and the wear but he likes his job with so much variety.

Then we arrived in Ft. Lauderdale VERY early.  It was dark and I woke up to watch the entry into the harbor…

Then before we knew it, we were off the ship, through customs and on a plane heading home.  Goodbye Florida and goodbye Caribbean!  This was a fun trip and Happy, Happy, Happy 50th Anniversary to my parents!

The plane over the Atlantic…DSCF7982

The plan on approach to O’Hare.  Note the two other planes (one to the right of the wing, the other just to the left half way up the wing) also on approach…DSCF7988

And finally.  Guess how many steps I took on this cruise?  I decided to just leave the step counter on and not re-set it until I got home…

95,538 steps! 30.16 miles!

The only problem I had with all that was Sunday morning when I stepped on the scale.

Reality.

The vacation is over, now back to reality…

again…
