As you can see this wall (and room) has been the receptacle of a lot of miscellaneous items. Yes. That is an enlarger you see there on the left. This whole wall has been the repository of my ‘dark room’ equipment.
Don’t ask. But since I went there and have given you a quick peek into my existence, there was a time, not so long ago, that I wanted to learn everything about taking, developing and printing my own photographs.
I took classes at the local community college and just fell in love with the process. This was before I owned a digital camera so it was still pretty cool. I guess it still is pretty cool but I think the expense now outweighs the coolness factor.
Anyway…moving on. The rest of this stuff is a collection of rubber stamps, art, and scrap booking supplies. For a long time I was into rubber stamps and making cards. Still do on occasion but not as much as I used to. I don’t think I can throw this stuff out just yet although I might consider selling the darkroom equipment and supplies. I picked it all up (the darkroom) on the cheap so I could probably still get my hundred or so bucks out of it yet. The rubber stamps, I don’t know. I still get enjoyment out of them. So this room will have to have a place in it for the art, as well as the sewing.
Here’s where we are today. I just put a layer of paint on the wall this morning. The only real issue was this crack between the two pieces of drywall above the door. I carved out the cracking drywall and spent a couple of days fixing it and used spackling to smooth it out.
I don’t know what I’m going to do on the North wall just yet. There’s some work there that’s got to be done. You can see ever so little of it in the corner there…see the yellow paint and squiggly brown lines? I have to patch another hole in the wall, scrape/sand off some paneling glue, rip out a closet and prep another side of paneling. I’m still going to be busy.
In the mean time. South and East are looking good. And we are making good progress!
